Running Vegas

Im very sad to say that this may be my final Ragnar post:( Not that I haven't loved doing these races...Im just (shall we say) moving on.
What a good one to finish on, though! Even walked away with a solid 2nd place finish.

Falling for Fall

I should say, FELL for Fall because I fell for this amazing time of year a long time ago. Im obsessed with the smell of October. I anticipate shopping for boots and cardigans all year long. I stock up on canned pumpkin starting in the hot days of August. And I crave the memories of my mom that permeate every second of the Fall. She IS Fall. She is burnt orange and purple. She is burlap and linen. She is cool:) And she is never as present in my life as she is in the Fall.

Jolley Ole' England

August 24- Leave for London
Casey and I have been wanting to visit Kam and Summer ever since they left, in March. Finally!! After about 12 hours of flying time and a loss of 8 hours, we arrived in London at 7AM on Saturday morning. Kam and Summer picked us up from the airport and we went straight to the tube to take us sight-seeing.

First stop: The Tower of London
Next: The Tower Bridge

And after a far too quick trip to Harrod's, we rounded off our marathon first day in London by going to Les Mis at the Queen's Theatre...SO good!!

Our hotel was on a cute, quiet little street in Paddington...just a stone's throw from Hyde Park where Summer and I went jogging one gorgeous morning.
Day 2: Buckingham Palace,
the London Eye, Parliament, Westminster Abbey and the British Museum.
Day 3: Carnival in Nottinghill

On our way down to Sherborne, we stopped in the freezing rain for a picture at Stonehenge.

The landscape of the English countryside is so much more diverse than I expected. We went from seaside pubs and cliffs...

to cities that evolved around hot springs...

to acres of heart-stoppingly beautiful gardens.

Kam and Summer live in Sherborne, Dorset which is a picture right out of a fairytale book. It's no wonder that they've fallen under it's spell. 4 days there just wasn't enough.
Keep our bed warm, friends...we will be back:)
