My Turkey Success!

This week I have come to realize that there are stages in a mom's life. I have officially crossed into the Moms who can cook an entire Thanksgiving Dinner stage. Being that my mom has always cooked the Thanksgiving meal and my aunts have had so much faith in me that they have always assigned me the soda, before, I was more than a little nervous at the thought of hosting and cooking the bulk of the meal. So I studied up and thank you turkeyrecipes.com and Martha Stewart, it was a success. I made a 14 lb. turkey, homemade stuffing, gravy from the drippings, and sauteed green beans and red onion, with time to spare.
Seriously though, I'm so glad that I cooked for 4 hours for a meal that was gone in 30 minutes. At least I'm sure my mom is proud.

Wow! Look at you. I made a turkey for the first time last year and I remember being so proud. It really is not hard, but if you have never done it, it is scary. I think you are right, there are definately different stages in our life. Good Job. HOpe you guys had a great Thanksgiveing!

You did a great job Bri! I don't remember mom ever looking so fashionable and calm while she was cooking! Let's remember to lock up Fia in the bedroom next year, though!

AWESOME BRIANNE! I really do start to sweat a little bit thinking about the Thanksgiving that I will be responsible for the cooking. You have just proved to me that there is hope!

That is your kitchen??? Holy jealousy. And why aren't the counters dirty behind it? Everytime I cook, it takes every ounce of counter space. I made three side dishes and destroyed the place!
It was so fun to run into you and Casey today...so random, but very cool. I gave Dave your number and he was excited to have it. Have Casey call - even if he's not allowed to golf. :)

Brianne, I am glad to know your blog address so I can check up on your cute family. Congrats on the turkey cooking. I can't say I have ever done that yet. I did make a killer jello though. Baby steps, I guess when I grow up I will get bigger assignments. We hope we will be able to see you guys while we are in AZ for Christmas. Happy Holidays.
